How to Add and Enable Citrix Files for Outlook Online

Installing Citrix Files Add-in

  1. Click + New message in Outlook.
  1. Click the ellipses ''
  1. Select Get Add-Ins.
  1. On the Add-Ins for Outlook screen, use the search to find Citrix Files.
  1. Click Add.
The Citrix Files for Outlook Add-in is now available. See Accessing Citrix Files in Outlook Online for more information.

  1. Click + New message in Outlook.
  1. Click the ellipses ''
  1. Click the Citrix Files icon to login using your Citrix account credentials.
  1. Click Log In and enter your Citrix account credentials.

Sharing Citrix Files

The following provides the steps necessary to share files using Citrix Files.
NOTE:
You may select files from your computer as well as from your Citrix Files account.
The Citrix Attachment link is added to the Outlook online message and is ready for your recipient, subject, and message body information.
  1. Select Share Files.
  1. Click Browse Files to open your Citrix Files folders.
Note:
You may select files from your computer as well as from your Citrix Files account.
  1. Select a file from the available folders to send. Click Add. Repeat if you need to send multiple files.
  1. Click Insert Link.
The Citrix Attchment link is added to the Outlook online message and is ready for your recipient, subject, and message body information.

Request Files with Citrix Files for Outlook Online

  1. Select Request Files.
  1. Use Edit to select the location you want the requested file(s) to be uploaded. The default is File Box. Click Insert Link.
A secure link is added to the message. By default, the inserted link will be ' Click here to upload files.' with the 'Click here' text configured as a hyperlink. The message is ready for your recipient, subject, and message body information.

Citrix Files for Outlook Online have various default settings for sharing and requesting Files.

Access and Editing Settings

  1. Selecting Settings from Citrix Files for Outlook Online.
  1. Click Edit for either Sharing Files or Requesting Files.

Troubleshooting

Current Issues

Add-in Dialog Box cannot be displayed
'The security settings in your browser prevent us from creating a dialog box. Try a different browser, or configure your browser so that [URL] and the domain shown in your address bar are in the same security zone.' To resolve the issue, end users or administrators can add the domain of the add-in to the list of trusted sites in Internet Explorer. Use the same procedure whether you're using the Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge browser.'
  1. In Internet Explorer, choose the Tools button, and go to Internet Options > Security.
  2. Select the Trusted sites zone, and choose Sites.
  3. Enter the URL that appears in the error message, and choose Add.
  4. Try to use the add-in again. If the problem persists, verify the settings for the other security zones and ensure that the add-in domain is in the same zone as the URL that is displayed in the address bar of the Office application.

Limitations

  • Files cannot be shared if they are located in a Restricted Zone or Connectors location
  • This app is only available to Employee users on plans that include the Email Integration.

Symptoms or Error

Windows and Mac OS X users cannot access desktops and applications from Receiver using Google Chrome 37 or later. Cubase le for mac. When a user opens Receiver in the browser, the Unblock the Citrix plug-in message is displayed.

Solution

To resolve the issue, unblock the Citrix Receiver plug-in pop-up in Google Chrome to access desktops and applications in Receiver when using browser. Complete the following steps to unblock the Receiver plug-in pop-up:

  1. Right-click the blocked plug-in icon in the address bar.
  2. Select one of the following options:
    Always allow plug-ins on server_name
    OR
    Run all plug-ins this time

    Alternatively browse to following address in your Chrome:
    chrome://plugins/
    Make sure Citrix Plug-in is enabled
